Horní Blatná is a picturesque Renaissance town in the Ore Mountains, founded in 1532 on rich deposits of tin, cobalt and silver ores. The history of tin mining will be revealed by the local museum. It is surrounded by mountain meadows and deep forests below Blatenský vrch (1041 m above sea level). In Horní Blatná, the trail begins to Blatenský vrch, where there is a lookout tower (1044 m above sea level). At its foot from 1532 there was a famous mine Wolfgang. The monument to it are two rock crevices called Wolf Pits, which were formed by the collapse of the ceilings of underground excavated chambers. The first cleft is 120 m long and 15 m wide, at the bottom of the second, much narrower, ice and snow stick even in the hot summer.
